Fix: MySQL MAMP PRO – Neverending “Loading”

So Today I encountered a weird bug in MAMP PRO 2.0.1:

After doing a restart of MAMP PRO, MySQL was loading, but didn’t load. None of the settings were accessible, even after I killed everything and restarted it. This happens when you add a new “host”, and don’t specify the file-path (“Disc Location”). To get out of the loop here is what you have to do:

  1. Start MAMP PRO
  2. Open Terminal
  3. Enter: /Applications/MAMP/bin/stop.sh

Whola!

p.s. Ohh, and if you’re not to happy about using a Terminal, easy pie. You just have to actually go to your MAMP folder in Applications, open up “bin” folder, and double clickaty on your “stop.sh”. (opening Terminal is a little quicker though…)

      1. HI all,I am trying to concent via my MacBook to mySQL on my iMac where MAMP is running but no luck. Local mySQL access is working great.I read that I have to set the bind address to the IP of the Mac where MAMP is running but I am not able to edit the my.cnf file. When I restart MAMP it replaces the my.cnf file with the same old content and overwrites my changes.Anybody with a good resource on how to concent via LAN to MAMP mySQL? Thanks for any hint!Andreas
